|Is “antique” furniture considered GOOD or BAD Feng Shui..?
In the Chinese culture, antiques are NOT considered “good” Feng Shui to have in a home, unless they come from a DYNASTY.
Antique items purchased in antique stores, estate sales, garage sales and/or thrift stores carry “strong energy “ from previous owners. This includes used furniture and furnishings handed down from generation to generation as well.
ENERGY IS ALIVE AND CONSCIOUS.
Energy imprints the history of all that happened in the space where an item was stored or displayed. Therefore, the items you bring into your home not only influences the ambient energy of your environment – but also your body temple too.
In simple terms, everything you own is alive and every item in your home either adds to its good energy – or pollutes it.
It’s important to know that some physical objects absorb energy more than others. For example, objects made of reflective materials, such as glass, silver, copper and other metals absorb less energy than items made from non-reflective materials, such as wood, pottery and fabrics.
Does this mean you should avoid purchasing antiques that make your heart sing ..?
The answer is NO.
Trust your gut as to what feels like good energy or bad energy. If you decide you cannot live without a “used or antique item,” here are a few TIPS on what you can do before bringing the furnishing into your home or office environment:
Quarter 4 oranges and 2 lemons and place them into a pot with 2 to 3 cups of water, and bring the fruit and juice to a boil. After the liquid cools, thoroughly scrub the wood with this mixture.
The best tip I can offer you on fabric is to replace it.
A thorough washing and/or polishing should do the trick.
